Church Bells

Posted Dec 11, 10:31

The nine bells are rung from the small keyboard at the front of the Church and the person playing them follows the sequence of numbers shown on the cards at the side of the keyboard. These were prepared by Joe Herkes many years ago and provide the tune of the bells, nearest to the hymns chosen from the hymn book.
Sadly the number of volunteers who play the bells has dwindled and we need at least two more volunteers to continue.
We miss Olive Martin very much as she was a regular player of the bells and now, regrettably, Jean Buchanan has had to give up as she has trouble with her eyesight. Winnie Croall has been a regular player but is now being asked to play the Clavinova more often.
So the word is – any volunteers?
